When do I know if my cherry tomatoes are ready to be picked? They’ve been red on the vine for at least two weeks now, but when I tug on them they are still firmly attached. I’ve read that they’re ready when they come off easily. Is that true or should I just pick them now?
They sell cherry tomatoes on their stem in the grocery stores. So, they don’t pull off easy. Just test taste one to determine if it’s ready.

I pull them off as soon as they are red so they don't split open on the vine. They last longer on the counter this way too

1 me gustaYou want to pick tomato’s when they are on the brink of turning red if you get a lot turning at the same time. If they are red pick them. These tomato’s are taking energy that the unripe tomato’s need. Usually red tomato’s keep a few days and the others turn within a day or so. Put them stem side down when possible. Agree they don’t always pull off easy but red is done! Fresh tomato’s are the best. I have raised 4 to 5 every summer for 15 years. I live in Utah which has short growing season so I plant Early Girls with shorter production time. Have fun!
