anyone have an idea why this is happening? these are apricot/peach hybrids, they are under the exact same conditions and one of them is nearly 3" taller than the other. they were moved out of cold strat at the same time and sprouted at the same time, and were separated into different pots when they were both about 3" tall. neither are sick and i'm not super worried, just curious. is it just a genetic matter because they're hybrids & not identical?
I think it depends on which plants genes showed up in each one, I do believe that apricots grow slower than peaches. The only time I see some of my plants grow faster than others is the ones that get the sun about 30 minutes sooner in the morning have grown 6x larger than the others, but that’s a clear environmental difference
2件のいいね The only way to be sure the genetics are the same is if they were both propagations from the same section of a plant
いいね 1件 the bulb they're under reads 300ppfd 🤷♂️ though one of them is taller and is getting more light than that. i've decided the taller one can be hardened off now, it's too close to the bulb and it does get pretty warm to the touch so i'm scared to burn the leaves lol
いいね 1件 That’s what happened to my coleus, it grew until it was 2” from a T8 strip light and was getting something like 1400ppfd which cooked the chlorophyll in the leaves, he now lives like 2.5’ from grow lights instead of mere inches
