Is there an any edible plants that can be grown indoors? I’d like to get started soon but I need to know what’s possible.

    You can grow several vegetables plants and herbs indoors if you have enough light. They need a minimum of 6 hours of direct sunlight (southern exposure) or add a strong grow light. Start with smaller plants like herbs (basil, mint, dill, sage, thyme, marjoram) and peppers (bell, poblano, ghost).

      Oooh I love Poblano Peppers. I think I’ll start with herbs first.

      The stores like Lowe’s and Home Depot keep one or two display racks with herbs and other edibles until autumn. Don’t choose the tallest or biggest. They may have been on those shelves since March with compacted roots. Check the roots, look for pests and avoid the back shelf ones growing in low light.

    I have basil, mint, curry leaves all growing indoors. And I started my tomatoes, eggplants and chillies indoors. Chillies were originally planned to stay indoors but recently got put outside bc they weren’t getting enough light- too leggy not enough chillies (even with a grow light and directly in a SW window!) so I second having a **Good** grow light on them
