What am I doing wrong with my peppers? I’ve had a bell pepper plant and a jalapeño pepper plant that have been in a window box outside on my porch all summer. The peppers have been shriveling and rotting (at least that’s what it looks like to me) on the plant. I tried adding crushed up tums to the soil to give them more calcium and that seemed to work for the jalapeños for a while, but now they’re doing it again. Any advice?
I would change out the soil to clear out any bacterial or fungal infections. Disinfect the pots, window boxes and tools with hydrogen peroxide or isopropyl alcohol. Fertilize after replanting. Good luck🍀🪴
0 Me gustaIt looks like bottom end rot to me. I started adding a little cal mag to every time I watered or fertilized. (A little goes a long way). Consistency is key. When the problem is corrected I still had a little when I fertilize. Good luck!
