I harvested my potatoes today 😭 I think I waited way too long this was all there was. 30g of potatoes. I’m still glad I planted them and I do want to try again. But this was a wee bit discouraging. Any tips for the future would be awesome! These were baby potatoes planted Feb 15. 10 of them were planted in the featured pot. No fertilizers were added except for organic matter at the very beginning.
The pot may have e been too small? Also, did you wait for the leaves to get dry and crispy before harvest?
3개 좋아요 I think the container was definitely too small. I did wait for the leaves to be dry and crispy, but I more or less didn’t find any potatoes that weren’t attached to green ones.
0개 좋아요 Taters like a looooot of nitrogen so I always plant mine with a fast growing bean but you can always use a store bought fertilizer to help. What zone are you in? because I am in zone nine and planted my potatoes in March and mine still aren’t ready to harvest
좋아요 1개 I’m in zone 8a! Thanks for the tip about nitrogen. I grow beans often so I’ll be sure to plant them alongside potatoes next time.

They still look delicious ngl. Enjoy them with some breakfast food. But yeah, bigger pot, let the leaves all get crispy. Good work growing potatoes! New goal: bigger:)
