Help! My Okra is covered in these white eggs!! Whatever it is, is eating through leaves like no tomorrow!! I’ve been pulling off the heavily affected small leaves. I’m scared I’m gonna lose all of them before I even see my first bloom! I grew these guys from seedlings, so I really wanna see them all the way through. Any help is appreciated!!
Hard to tell so I’ll let someone else comment on that, but I wanted to reassure you that okra are hearty! Maybe try wiping off the leaves instead of removing them? But I guess it depends on what it is. As it gets hotter, okra will take off and be unstoppable!
좋아요 1개 Thank you! I have wiped off the larger leaves, but those smaller ones were being chewed off so I thought eh 🤷🏼♀️ they’re dying and might spread disease

0개 좋아요 Have you tried neem oil? Otherwise captain jacks organic dead bug spray is great too, and is ok for use on edible plants. (Obviously still clean i before consuming) I’d cut the infected leaves off as quickly as possible to prevent spread, clean the plant and spray with neem oil etc. if it is in a pot you can also water the soil with 1 part 3% hydrogen peroxide to 3 parts water. This kills larvae in the soil.
2개 좋아요 I’m going to be getting some neem oil, that was gonna be my next step. I’ve cut off the majorly infected ones but I’ll have to leave the rest. They’re pretty much all infected, I’ll just wipe them off, and I’ll try the Hydrogen peroxide trick!!

2개 좋아요 One more tip to prevent pests like this is to prune your plants. Snip off dead leaves and clean the topsoil in the pot of any fallen leaves & rotting material. Pests thrive in it!
