hey guys, this cherry tomato was finally ripe and i was going to pick it today but it has this big slit in it that wasn’t there yesterday:( is this normal for ripe tomatoes or should i have harvested sooner? this is my first tomato plant so im not sure, also wondering if i can still eat it
The tomato cracked it’s common when it rains. I recommend harvesting tomato’s when they are orange and letting them finish ripening on the counter, And yes you can still eat it.

I live in a subtropical climate, and we always pick them before they ripen because rain, bugs , something is always after those bad boys the minute they turn red.
