Hey everybody. Im pretty new to any type of gardening and im trying to start growing some veggies and herbs in containers this year. I have a couple of questions, if anyone can help. 1. I am using 5.5 gallon plastic pots that are about 12in in diameter and pretty deep, is that too small to plant a bush bean plant with some carrots around it? 2. Is that same size pot able to hold 2 bush cucumber plants or should I only put 1 per pot?
I would put one cucumber per pot. Possibly 2 bush beans will fit depending on the variety. I usually go for 10 gallon or larger if I’m putting multiple plants. Especially heavy feeders like cucumbers.

Just 1 for 5 gallon. I have 10 gallon and those I’ll put 2 cucumbers or 2 tomatoes (San Marzon) last year. I’ll do the same this year.
