Hey, first time gardener I guess, i got a plantable calendar for Christmas and this is my cayenne pepper plant, it has fungal gnats, bad. i cannot seem to get rid of them absolutely no matter how much i do, i know I shouldn’t water it but how long can I leave it with no water and what on earth can I do? It will be going outside soon and grown in the pot i don’t know if that’s right but that’s what’s happening
Can’t speak about the watering part, I’m still a noob and there are more experienced gardeners then I. I will say tho. My mum warned me to harden off my chillies outside before keeping them outside permanently. (Put them out for an hour, then 2, 3, etc etc) that’s so they have a nice strong stems to support them. I’m sure you’ve already tried, but diatomaceous earth and hydrogen peroxide watering a helped my ferns which were right next to my chillies.

I’ve made a tea soak using mosquito bits that worked great. Kills all the larvae

I had a crazy fungal gnat problem in my office - it affected all my plants! I used a diluted hydrogen peroxide mix with peppermint essential oil and put out these sticky traps. A week later the problem is almost gone. I also have heard good things about neem oil - but it smells awful.
