Meyer lemon tree🍋 Planted it in soil for citrus trees. It has one bloom on it that you can’t see in the picture. Any tips would be appreciated!

    Did you test the Ph of the soil? Lemon trees need a specific balance.

    Also did you prune it. I read a few weeks ago it needed to be so I cut mine back about a month ago. Look at YouTube

      I pruned the lower leaves but read conflicting info that lemon trees like to be bushier so I hesitated pruning more— will look at videos more. Thanks!

    I’ve found the key to my trees has been light. Full sun, at least six hours a day, but the more the happier. If the light is good, they seem to take care themselves. It gets too cold in the winter in my area so they have to come inside. That time is particularly challenging for me because I just don’t have a good window for them. Soil should be freely draining. I use a citrus soil (succulent/cactus works in a pinch) with orchid bark and perlite. Depending on the quality of the potting soil, it typically works out to 2 parts of soil, 1 part park, 2.5 parts perlite. It needs to be a freely draining mix. Don’t let it dry out but don’t keep the soil soggy. I also top dress with compost and worm castings every spring. And I fertilize monthly during active growth.
