Hello everyone, I’m pretty new to gardening and I had a bug that took out my potatos. Long story… but now they are on my soil in my sunflower pot. They are small black flying insects and they hop more then fly. I tried to get a close up picture but couldn’t get a good one. Anyone have any idea what it is and how to treat it?? Thank you! Van

1 like I have them two and they are not that bad but would recommend to get a spray to get rid of them
I had a potato grower/farmer suggest mixing pure Castile soap and water and spray it. I was going to spray copper fungicide and wondered if that would get rid of it. Thanks so much for all the great info! 💕

I had those it sounds like fungus gnats. I put an inch of sand on the top of my pots and now they are gone, they eat fungus in the soil
