Growing ginger I saw a post on YouTube that said to soak store bought ginger in water with a tablespoon of peroxide. Soak for 10 minutes then drain water off and place in plastic bag and place in dark - I put it in a cupboard. Repeat process weekly. Here’s my result after 3 weeks. I’m stunned at how effective this is. Next step… pot them up.

You’ll definitely have to keep us updated. I wanna do this in a pot and keep it indoors

I understand it takes 6-7 months to harvest. But starting them like this gave me a head start. potted them up yesterday. I have them outside. I’ll keep you posted. I juice turmeric and ginger daily so I’m excited about growing my own. So expensive$$$$.

I'm soaking my ginger right now! I started early this morning, everything I read online said you can soak for like a day in plain water to get rid of any potential growth inhibitors sprayed on to keep them from sprouting at the supermarket. However, I find conflicting information about companion planting. Some say planting in the same pot with garlic is good and some say it's bad. So I may do one pot with and one pot without and compare. 🤷‍♀️

I’ll be interested in your results. I have just ginger in my pots. I also did the same process with turmeric. They are in separate pots. Good luck!

Don't expect too much in the way of results, it's my first time! I did plant one pot with garlic and one pot without. We'll see!
