Im growing a pumpkin in glass jar filled with water (which is proving harder than it looks) it’s been doing alright other than some nutrient deficiencies as I was figuring out how much fertilizer i needed in the water. Recently the first 4 leaves that had grown are starting to get this crunchy ridge on them. I have had a few plants sunburn in my window so I was wondering if that was the case here or if there’s something else. the new leaves are beautifully green and don’t have this problem. I think it might be sunburn but the one thats on the opposite side is having a similar problem so im skeptical

    The pumpkins I’ve seen growing hydroponically are growing in 40 gallon storage containers with organic fertilizer mixed in the water to produce a brown fertilizer tea. The potted plant’s lower roots are suspended in the water through a hole in the lid. The pot contains soil in the 4” pot. The roots grow through the drain holes and grow extensively in the water. The plant rapidly grows in full sunlight. Your plant might need the proper balance of nutrients, more space for the roots and fertilized water. It may also need at least 8 hours of direct sunlight or a grow light to thrive. 🪴🍀
