Hey there! Last year I planted 3 cherry tomatoes in a plastic planter, but they never flowered. They grew tall (about a foot and a half) but never put forth fruit : ( Any tips for this year? (this is the plant from last summer:

It’s gotta be the depth of that window box. Tomatoes need a depth of at least 12”-14” to establish deep, healthy roots. Typical window boxes are only around 5-7”, I’ve noticed (mine are the same). You stunt their growth keeping them in shallow containers. Additionally, your window boxes also aren’t filled all the way to the top, so you probably only have about 4” of soil in there. 🥲 A window box like that would be perfect filled with soil all the way to the top if you wanted to plant lettuce, spinach, or cherry belle radishes, though! Nice and shallow. :)

I currently have my tomatoes in red 18oz solo cups, but once they’re big and strong, they’re graduating to their own big pots. I picked up nice, deep grow bags off Amazon (come in big packs) because I have several plants that require depth to plant, but if you’re only planting a few, WalMart has a big affordable plastic pot collection in their garden center (US)!
