I just bought some green onion at the store the other day and gave decided to start growing some of my own. I have already cut off the ends and put them in water, but I just want to know what is the best kind of soil I can use to transfer them to. What is a good brand of soil that is cheap and good for the green onions?

I am in north Texas and use a typical posting soil amended with some perlite. I also generously top dress with compost and worm castings.

Use a standard potting mix with added compost if growing in pots. Use a garden soil if growing in the ground. Place in full sunlight or a grow light for at least 6 hours each day.
