i started growing strawberries in my out side window pot this summer, how can i help keep them alive when it starts to cool down?

Maybe creating a greenhouse effect for it will let the sun in but keep the heat and moisture from escaping.

Temporarily digging down the pot/planter in a flower bed/in ground late fall (same soil level as it has now) and covering the plant with leaves or similar insulating material can help protect it from harsh winter weather and give it a better chances of surviving well 🙂

I like this idea! Yes planters not safe for plants over the winter. Plastic and compost may not be able to protect it.

Hay. Compost. They’ll most likely go dormant but in a window planter you’re right to be worried. Compost should help boost temps in the winter.
