You and plant most of the green leafy ones like collard and mustard greens. Cabbages love the cooler temperatures. Root crops like carrots and radishes are good to plant now. Avoid peppers, tomatoes and melons that need warmer temperatures to grow. Good luck.

Yea even in east Texas the cold of fall will interrupt a lot of plants growth cycles unless you have a greenhouse. Pumpkins in a pot that size will be very small most of the time. Can you plant them in ground? If soil is bad just use a few bags of soil or compost and it will be fine.

That was just my starter pot to get them sprouted. I was going to move them when they got bigger. Do you think I should go ahead and move them into the ground?
