Does anyone have recommendations for the best herbs or vegetables to plant on a windy balcony? It gets direct sun and it’s very hot where I am. So far basil, cilantro, and oregano have all failed. Peppers are doing okay.

Peppers like it hot and drier than other plants. Herbs have thin leaves so they're real hags about sun too. Rosemary is so woody it usually tolerates sun well. And when it gets hot is smells awesome. Lemon grass would probably grow, citronella--also smell great in the evenings--marjoram and dill would prob be ok. You'd just have to mist the dill a bit so it doesn't bolt too quickly.

SO helpful! I’m going to try this! Citronella would also help with the mosquitoes hopefully 😂

Okra loves hot weather, but should be watered every week and harvested every other day. It also grows really tall, so I’m unsure if it’s a good option on a balcony.
