Hi all! It’s my first time growing food, and my cilantro is looking a little sad. It has small white dots on some leaves, some yellow leaves, and it’s a little droopy. There were fruit flies in the area but I set a trap for them, but do you think they caused a problem for my plant?

Powdery mildew. If the soil doesn’t breath and is wet constantly fungal gnats will emerge. They’ll carry powdery mildew all over. You need to treat it with baking soda. Mix it with water and spray it on the leaves. Don’t recommend anything stronger as you eat the leaves.

Cilantro is tough to get things just right, but once you do, it will explode! Mine have done better in containers or raised garden beds vs amended soil direct seeded. Cilantro has very thin leaves so it will be more sensitive to over watering. I will also prune from the bottom to make sure it isn't too crowded near the soil where bugs can make their home.
