I’ve never grown tomato’s before. These are Roma tomatoes and I thought it’d be better to start with a determinate tomato. I’m not sure if I planted these too close. Will I need to put anything around them for support?

I’d put a stakes or cage around them. Cages are better in my opinion you don’t need the tape to attach them. And as the grow they have more supports vertically and horizontally.

I never worry about planting too close. Well unless they’re in the same hole. I’ve had nothing but positive results pushing the boundaries of space. They seem to grow bigger and more lush when close together and with tomatoes more growth=more tomatoes.

I would put cages around them. It will give them something to lean on or grow up. I had to pull up three of my six tomato plants because they grew too close together causing the roots to tangle and competition over water and sunlight. I wouldn’t worry about them being to close unless one looks weak or is turning yellow. Then that’s a sign they are too close.

Yes you could grow them up sticks and tie them to the stick
