Is this normal development for sunflowers? The seeds were planted below but seem to have risen to the top a bit.

Im no expert but I have had this happen with many of my plants. The seeds I see in the pictures are ones that have already germinated and have just fallen off the plant. It looks like one of the seeds is still attached to the new leaves coming up.

Anytime I’ve planted sunflowers they have always done this. The parts you’re seeing are just the outer shell. If they’re loose, you could probably just take them off, but they will fall off by themselves eventually. I’ve always left them and my sunflowers have grown beautifully.

Hi! I’m currently growing sunflowers too and this happened as well. It’s normal.
