Healthy watermelon vines Hi friends! My watermelon plant is growing fast, happy and healthy. I put him in the garden in May. (He lives in Louisville, Kentucky.) I have lots of flowers but no fruit. Should I cut back the vines (it currently has 6 vines from the center of the plant) to encourage fruit growth?
Water could be an issue with your current setup, what is your primary soil constituent? Sand? Clay? If I had to guess your soil is mainly Clay and the water table is not allowing enough water retention for the melons. A raised bed is great because it holds moisture longer while shedding excess to the water table. 😄 Happy Gardening 🧑🌾
