I think my cat has been eating my Christmas cactus and now it looks pitiful! I have it on my counter and I’ve put things around it to keep my cat from chewing on leaves. I’ve watered it but it still looks withered. Help!

As soon as I saw this succulent i knew i had to have him. I didn’t notice when I bought him that there was a tiny new succulent growing under him. I named him Jack cause he’s a flapjack succulent, but when i saw the second lil guy start to grow I decided to name him after the baby Jack Jack from the incredibles and they are flourishing quite nicely🄹🄰 First pic is them now, second is the day I brought them home!

Just found this at my father’s house. He says he doesn’t know what it is, and it appears to be badly diseased. Couldn’t find anything on the internet. Any advice?

Is that a baby plant sprouting?

Question about Melocactus. Full sun? Any success growing one indoors? It’s one of my favorites, but the requirements make it something I wouldn’t recommend or give to anyone without that person having experience in patience. I’m certain I haven’t met heat needs that mirror Brazil. It looks healthy and all, but I’m wide-eyed every time a little more red pokes out. Additionally, though, that high school ceramics project pot gets hot to the touch in the sun. Lesson learned. It’s still a great pot. I reckon it’s still young, but I’m thinking of the future ā˜ŗļø

My senecio antandroi is doing great. It is about 18-24" tall now in pot about 6-7 " wide. Should I repot it?

Is.. is this normal? How tall will it get!? It’s over a foot tall at this point

I’ve been wanting to hang this plant up for a while to give her trails more space, any advice on a low cost and non invasive method to hang plants in an apartment that doesn’t let you make holes?

hello!! first post!! this is Curtis :D (the smiley is part of his name, legally) my mom got a bunch of cacti and succulents back in fall of 2021 and deemed me responsible for this guy. i knew he had grown but it’s crazy to see just how big he’s gotten after looking back at the first photo. he’s somewhere between 4 and 5 inches now!! he’s the first thing i’ve ever had to take care of (hence why i got this app to remind me) and i’m happy to see him grow so much under my care, even after some seemingly scary incidents ;-; i’m extremely new to plant care and don’t really know what i should be doing so if anyone has an questions, comments, or concerns please share!!! i’m happy to learn and wanna give Curt a happy & healthy life.

I put Sydney inside under a cool indoor light last week, and then…saw some bugs. She had been outside for a while, and she hadn’t been repotted since April 2022 (I made sure to ask the previous owner ha). The bottom is some shale bits (taken from a trilobite quarry in Delta, Utah) then commercial cact and suc soil, a layer of pumice, put her back in, cover the top with lava rock and some other rocks. I’m not aiming for perfection. That pot is plastic, but it’s fancy and stays cool in the heat. No need to switch IMHO. I did once drill a drainage hole, but that’s it. Note that this was inspired today by Planta alerts of hot temperatures. I’ve wanted her inside for a while, anyway. Note that a bandana will not protect you from these tiny spines. They are not anywhere near as bad as another prickly pear who unloaded so many spines into my leg, hands, arms that I felt temporarily high. Not a good high. Tingly and confused ha.

Watering bulbs, what are your opinions on them for cactus and succulents? Or opinions in general?

anna catherine

anyone know what type of cactus this is? I’ve had him for a year or so now and I still have no idea… thinking something of the prickly pear variety?
