Recent change of weather in Texas, it’s starting to get slowly colder everyday. My Calandiva, while it is still growing new tiny leaves at the top, it is continuing to droop instead of “look up” and feel firm like it used to before the rain incident. It’s been almost a week since I brought her back in and I really do not know what else to do. The soil is dry, the leaves are very soft instead of firm, and I’ve followed every “hack” possible to bring her back to her cheerful self. Any other tips y’all would recommend?

Getting some blooms on this “Ruby Slipper.” I got this plant on the day I said, “Get some leafy things.” This is as leafy as I get. It’s so fuzzy. (Pic of plant in the window was a month ago. It didn’t seem to care for afternoon sun so much. Go figure.)

Sometimes it’s so hard to take cuttings when a plant is so healthy but it was getting too big and trimming promotes it to be more bushy. This is Devil’s Backbone succulent. These cuttings will make a nice new plant once they root.

Anyone enjoy the feeling of seeing a sneaky bug on a pebble in your plant’s home? I knew this pot was getting too much water with ye olde “fill it until it drains” biz, but pulling these guys out revealed what a lazy job I did with soil; this was a gift for repotting and Dremel work for a friend, and I wasn’t in my element where I can collect rocks from the xeriscaped yards around me (with my neighbors trying to keep it classy, I will never pay for shale again shhhhhh). Note: I will never, ever use that Chia pot based on who took shape once given hair. Come try the Chia politician, which is 100 times less fun than Chia Scooby Doo. Anyway, I removed the insane amount of soil, filled the bottom half with a couple big rocks, loose clay pebbles, pumice, a little soil, a sprinkling of cinnamon - I believe in its ability to both promote root growth and irritate every bug that smells it - and a couple sprays of Neem. I cleaned off some of the ick spots etc. True to its Tolkien name, there is a sorta mine shaft and secret rooms running through the pot to give each plant some independence - like having their own runway to grow
and hide gold, and give Dwarves within a purpose. đŸ§™â€â™‚ïž

Ms Aloe plant here seems to have a weak root system and therefore seems very wobbly. How do I help her strengthen her roots?

Oh hello there, little flower who chose the first cold and dreary October day to bloom. Beans’ brother, Gaucho, bloomed last week and really didn’t appreciate me swabbing the flower for seeds. Despite being attached to slow growers, these flowers were fast to bloom and continued to morph during the day (some petals elongated to the side, other bits reached for the sky). ps This plant makes 5 out of 5 wins for Mountain Crest Gardens. I highly recommend them.

Hi! Can someone please help me identify these plants? The first two I propagated after I found out how easy it is to do so with succulents. The second two are my mother plants I’m hoping I could bring some life back into. (I believe they are succulents) If anyone could recommend plant identifier apps without a pay wall that would be great too! Thank you!

Hello, I really need some advice with my Aloe. a client gave me Vera about a year ago and she’s been kind of abandoned unfortunately. I’m trying my best to bring her back to health now but I have no clue how. She has sprung back to life a lot more then she was but does she have too many leaves? ( I have no clue what to do if this is the case) All of the pictures I’m seeing on here only have about 6/7 sprouts but mine seem to be growing everywhere😂 any advice is appreciated. Thank you â˜ș

Happy Sunday! I got this succulent from a mystery propagation box online and it was labeled as “Vera Higgins (Graptosedum)”. It’s doing really well and has a lot of roots so I decided on adding it to Planta. My problem is I don’t see it on the Planta catalog. Anyone know what option I should choose?
