Update - I cut it⊠but do I need to cut more? This is after about an hour.
Hi! Iâve had this cactus for 17 years⊠itâs the baby of my dadâs cactus and has flowered and birth new cacti once (in 2023 or so).
It was looking just fine in late Aug, but it now has a lot of black on the base. The obvious answer is root rot, which Dr. Planta also suspects, but itâs not soft at all. I read online that it could be corking as well.
Weâve been getting short, heavy rain this summer, so even though I havenât watered it much - overwatering is possible.
Any insights? Thank you!

Trying to figure out the name of this plant. The app says Houseleek tree âKiwiâ but it doesnât look the same when I look online. I want to propagate some of her because of the reaching, but I donât want to mess anything up! Any and all help in identifying the plant would be appreciated!! (Not the jade plant or the small bundle in the right corner)

Still not sure what this is. The app tells me itâs one thing but it looks nothing like it. I donât know if I should give up on this plant. I donât know what to do. Weâre building and landscaping so I canât plant it outside so the roots along the stems can get to dirt. Itâs just been stressing me out. I water when needed. Fertilize when Iâm supposed to. I just donât know.
