Larry is a peperomia columella that I got recently., and heâs drooping. I mostly have cacti and theyâve all thrived so this is the first time Iâve worried. The internet seems to suggest heâs being overwatered but his soil seems really dry. Heâs in a draining pot. Heâs gets plenty of light. Thatâs my shadow in the photo. Thoughts?

Found this guy at Trader Joeâs. A few broke off so Iâm going to attempt to propagate them and see if they grow roots themselves.

Hi all!
All of my plants bit the dirt (ha ha) after an experimental bottom watering gone root-rot. Lesson learned. Not always ideal for glazed pots in particular!
I have not tried to care for an Echeveria Perle Von Nurnberg yet, and this one is (in my minimal plant experience) absolutely massive. 4â approximately.
My new plants, including this one, arrived about one week ago in mostly dry soil, not *completely* crumbling, so Iâm holding off on watering all of them for at least a few more days. North facing window light is trash, but my grow lights have been upgraded and doubled, and I used my bunny ear cactus as a metric for light success â itâs growing at an absurd rate, so I think Iâve hit the grow light sweet spot. All of this to say: I am 99% certain I do not have a water or light issue, for once!
Regarding this echeveria: does this need to be in a deeper pot? It arrived very much like this, after a period of rest it was transferred to its âhomeâ pot from the plastic nursery pot. I added about a half of an inch of soil and some small bonsai pebbles as a topper to give it more opportunity to succeed.
However, it seems like itâs âthrowingâ little roots toward the soil and I donât want them to be exposed to any pests/become damaged and compromise the plant.
I donât want to disturb existing roots, this plant is very well-rooted and seems comfortable (with about an inch of extra perlite cacti soil beneath the root base) in the pot that itâs in, but if it requires more space, I can transfer it.
Iâm also not sure if these are just the result of the lowest leaves (maybe 1-2) inevitably being weak and removed/knocked off shortly after âsettling in.â
All opinions and advice are welcome! This plant is very new to me and I have a similar-sized echeveria chroma (a favorite!) that is also SO tall, and I feel I might run into this problem with that one even though it is in a terra-cotta pot with a wider top.
Two photos of the mystery roots, two photos of the plant for reference.
(Itâs the pot, isnât it?)

People ask me if I like succulents. I tell them definitely not, they are just so easily killed. Anyways, these are my precious babies. â€ïž

My aloe was turning pale and yellow when I moved it outside out of my bathroom. When I took it back to the bathroom it flourished! Never would I think that a plant would prefer the bathroom!

For those of you who have mature Mammillaria spinosissima, what do you pot them in and how do you provide support? (Please share pictures). My last repot on this guy was maybe 2 œ years ago and I'm contemplating if he will need one this upcoming spring. I did a little rearranging so he is no longer laying on my Mammillaria bombycina who is about to shoot out another pup. I over turned an empty flower pot for support. Just wondering what other people do for theirs.

I just noticed these small dots near the base of my Melocactus mantanzanus and was wondering what to make of them? Are these associated with pest or fungal infection. Hopefully it is benign. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I may have screwed up. I left my aloe plant out in the direct sun for today and yesterday pretty much and now the leaves are soft and squishy and slightly darker and discolored. Is there anything I can do to my plant to heal it or is it not a big deal?
Thank you folks

Help! My once tiny Baron Bold succulent was doing so well but I had to repotâŠ. I guess he didnât like it even though I used the right soil. He seems to be rotting from the bottom root. Should I cut and replant the healthy top? Iâm not great with succulents, can I save this plant?
