Does anyone know what these yellow parts are?
Hi friends! I have a question about using a terracotta pot versus plastic nursery pot. I know succulents/jades don’t like to be wet, so waterings are sparse. But for a terracotta pot, that absorbs water more quickly, right? Should succulents/jades in a terracotta pot be watered more frequently than a succulent/jade in a plastic nursery pot? Planta is still saying waterings should be 2-3 weeks apart. But I feel like my terracotta plants are drying out and should be watered more frequently. Fun fact: I’ve had a bad history of overwatering plants and killing them so I’ve been using Planta to improve my plant care. So I just want to make sure I’m doing what’s right for the plant as I learn my way through this crazy wonderful plant world lol Also, most of my succulents/jades are tiny, in 2 in pots, having been propagated and growing from a leaf, if that’s helpful at all.
Just got my assorted Cactus from Lowe’s! I love Cacti. Any tips or heads up when starting my new plants life? Also, I don’t have premium.
Hi plant friends! New to the app and I mainly joined because of these two babies here. I’ve done the plant doctor with Ai through the app and it said these were under watered. The agave was pretty sickly looking when I bought it a couple weeks ago and it just looks pitiful now. The red yuccas aren’t looking too hot either. Mind you, I live in west Texas where we’re reliving the dust bowl and it’s spring which means high winds and dried out soil begins. But these are typically drought tolerant after established. I’m worried I’ve watered too much trying to establish them. The app said they were underwatered. Any one have any suggestions to getting my babies looking healthy?
I inherited this guy from a coworker and I’ve been caring for it (poorly) for a couple years. I’ve no idea what type of plant this is….some kind of succulent. It has new growth, but the more mature shoots are constantly yellow at the base and I feel like the leaves drop pretty frequently. Any ideas on how to improve caring for this guy? Thanks in advance!
Ants keep invading my house to live in my succulent plants. How do I keep them out? I’ve repotted, tried cinnamon sprinkled around and even diatomaceous earth but the buggers keep coming inside. I live in the desert so it’s 120 in the summer. I think my plants will just die if I try to move them outside🥲 Cue the plant pic of my babies drowning in cinnamon and diatomaceous earth lol 😭
My aloe has a limpy leg should I chop the limpy part off or should I leave it? I’m not sure how to care for one
I said "holy ****" when I saw this one. It is huge, and photos aren't doing it justice. It came up on the receipt as "SUCCULENT -PINT" haha. I also had to grab some Lithops, but passed on the super mutant nelii (pictured).
Every year she gives me the prettiest fruit 😍 Huitzilopochtii- still can’t pronounce her name 😆
Hello! I got an easter cactus a years ago, and while my mom did take care of it for a few years, it's now been in my care since I moved to a bigger place. The problem is, even the years in college when my mom took care of it and since I've moved out, it's never flowered once. I've head some pieces of advice (like allegedly having it in a closet which seems risky?) that we had tried but didn't work. I was wondering if there was more I could do?
It seems like my bunny-ear cactus is really not doing well - is there a way to recover it after the “ears” have flopped over? Edit: my current picture didn’t upload the first time, sorry about that!
My Easter Cactus is blooming! Share your blooming pics with me.
If fertilizing with the little pellets which (says feeds for up to 6 mos) which option do I use, water or sticks? Its only those 2 options. Which option do you use?
Hi! I recently went to Home Depot and was looking at the gardening section and fell in love with the succulents. I was wondering if anybody on here could help me, I really want to get more into them but I want a low maintenance/easy one to take care of, I don’t care if I have to repot it or anything like that I just don’t know much about that either, also i would like for it to be an indoor one, but I still want to see it grow overtime and see it’s progress. Can anyone help me find what I’m looking for please!!! Thank you.
