This has been a weird plant to grow. Despite any advice, I water it a couple of days after it starts to shrivel. I have also misted it………..which isn’t in any book. My turning point on “just water it” was based on a video of someone growing theirs hydroponically, which just did not compute. The stems were white and pink until I exposed it to full sun a few months ago. They are kind of crisp, but didn’t seem to affect anything. The yellow leaves could be from all that water, but they don’t seem to do any harm. They are more like platforms for however many new leaves they can hold. I tried to propagate a clipping to no avail. Wouldn’t it be cool so see an ice plant growing out of a pile of garbage in a landfill? That’s my dream for all the discarded plant bits. Future inhabitants are going to flip when they see it. Holy cow it has grown.

This guy fell off the table yesterday and the sun got to it. I just moved him outside thinking he would be happier. Is he salvageable? How do you grow plants from the leaves? I tried laying them out on soil but they keep dying 🤦🏻‍♀️ Any help would be appreciated.

Someone send help…is it dying? Do they go dormant? It’s my sons and he’s gonna be mad if I kill it 😂

Brought my plants in over the weekend since fall temps are dropping (in Oklahoma). Got a particularly “dramatic” pic of my Mother of a Thousand and a separate pic of her in light.

$4 plant, $2 thrift store pot (obviously someone’s ceramics final), and then wait. These are so slow to grow, and their ability to take the hottest days without sweating is impressive.

Despite repotting, I had a nice surprise this week. Repotting this one was a gentle process of lifting - the roots on these are real bizarre and shallow - and placing, if that makes sense. No rigorous overhaul, just a needed bug check, back into a mix of pumice, soil and clay pebbles. I accidentally outed the seller in the one pic. She is a local who grows these and Astrophytum from seed 🤘🤘Check the stunning Astrophytum in my collection. All her (and her mom, who apparently has some 50-year old cactuses kicking around the house). (Image of the roots is not mine)

Hey! I’m very new to plants and I just bought some cactuses. I bought the one shown in the photo and it seems dead at the bottom (was there when I bought it) is it healthy? How should I care for it?

Dec 2022 to today. Echeveria agavoides wild horse. I had to move succulents from around it again today because it was blocking their light. Craziest growth I have seen in my indoor succulents.

Has anyone seen this before? It’s supposed to be an Aoenium lindleyi (Irish Bouquet)

Does anyone know the name of this plant. It looks long for a kalanchoe humiliation

This baby (to the left) is struggling and I’m not sure why. The top looks relatively healthy, the bottom is struggling. The lower leaves feel squishy and look like they want to fall off. What can I do to add nutrients possibly and help her grow stronger?

After maybe a month out of the flowering game, he’s back. The lean is getting out of control, and I’m going to let it lie down if that is its trajectory. ps I have wondered (without much research) how to get the original yellow color of this plant, as any sun exposure causes browning. This light *seems* to be an answer. It’s a clone of a clone off-brand, and one where you can see the moving light rays if you try to take a pic.
