Does anyone have any suggested on what to do in this scenario? I have been keeping my aloe plant propped up on my window so it doesn’t crack anymore but I have a feeling that it’s at a point of no return :(

Hi, new here because I only have one cactus baby. My cat knocked my cactus off the table while I was cleaning and the top split open from the fall. She’s about 4 years old , 10 inches tall. Inside looks green and healthy. Anyone had success with surgery and recovery? Any advice is appreciated!

Planta is saying elephant bush. But I’m not sure I agree based on Google pics. Thoughts?

So I’ve got this jade plant that I got given, it was a fallen stem off of their huge jade plant that I put in this bottle of water. I had 3, one I put in soil that seems to be doing well, another small one in soil and this one. I tried 3 different ways to try and propagate them. This one seems to of gone crazy with its roots and from the looks of it is seeming to thrive in the water. It had a lot of brown leaves when it was given to me but those have fallen off and the rest look like they’re doing really well. I’m just wondering if I should take it out the bottle and pot it or what the best way to keep it alive will be. Thanks

Hi, I have noticed that my aloes leaves have become more horizontal and I guess drooping, they are just not as upright as they were before, why is this happening and is that bad? It also has some brown spots on it.

It might sound like a silly question, but when my flowers die on my kalanchoe plant, should i cut them off? And if I cut them, will the plant be able to bloom from the same area again? I tried cutting before but then the entire stem turned brown.

While I am really partial to the plants in Brazil (mostly for their color and ability to withstand harsh sun), I am back on my South Africa obsession. One generalization as to why I like them is that they respond similarly whether in real or fake light. The romantic arty explanation I think up is that they are essentially eyes with no other senses and a singular goal of “get light.” Another reason is that the Haworthia bloom their enormous flowers during North American winters. It’s something to look at while the Mammillaria snooze 😴 These are just my observations, as I frequently read, “Lithops do not like to be moved.” Well, I moved some from the sun to a grow light and they opened up the next day. And it happened a couple other times. And with my Split Stones, same deal. Seeing pics of them in their horrible habitat gave me some confidence in their ability to adapt. Check out the growth on my Euphorbia ferox! That was two little bunches that should soon move to a bigger pot.

We underestimated how cold it would get in the sunroom here in PA, and we lost some sweet plants. 😨😓😭 The jade and pickle cactus are the saddest, how they collapsed after warming up inside. I suspect burst cell walls due to the weeping they were doing. Soooo sad! Among the other casualties: blue echeveria, little elephant bush, young burro tail, and gasteria. 😫

Help! Can somebody name this succulent? I know succulent care is generally pretty similar, but I still like knowing their scientific names.

Hi, I have this stonecrop that was etiolating and people suggested I get it better light and then try propagating it when it looked healthier. So I got a grow light and it looks much healthier, the first photo is before and the second two are after and it looks visibly greener despite the fact it loss multiple leaves. Now I am wondering if it looked ready to propagate or should I wait longer and if it is ready how should I do it?

So I have my showy sedum stone crop outside, and it’s in the phase where it’s completely ‘dead’ and it’s starting to create a lil baby version of it :) I leave it outside but lately it’s been raining a lot and I’m worried about root rot (it does have drainage holes tho) When it’s already been watered should I bring it inside when it’s going to rain? Also it’s been pretty cold lately, what’s the minimum temperature it can be to stay outside (a.k.a the coldest temperature the plant can be outside before there being a risk of harm to it)

Appreciation to Planta for adding Pink Nymph to your species DB a while back. Here she is. Mammillaria elongata “Pink Nymph” in bloom. I have not given the elongatas much love because they’re, to be honest, not very exciting. To be more honest, I couldn’t figure out what they wanted for light. ps This one is on a shelf with a moderately strong light all day. pps I do endorse this light in place of a Mars Hydro or other 100 watt+ big-coverage lights. I have non-science-based insights around it, but it’s basically just not as harsh. Those are also “results” based on using a huge light in a small space. Too much muscle ha. ppps I would like a job where I test grow lights all day.

It has kind of struggled since I have owned it. It arrived soft and mushy and has never recovered. I don’t know if it is going to be a loss? Should take the loss and buy a new one when the weather is warmer during transport? The other three I bought all are doing fantastic. I want to save it. I haven’t watered it, its dirt is just damp. I had a soft spot like a bruised peach and I cannot tell if it is trying to mold too.
