My big snake plant got a better spot with great light. He almost creates a room divider. Also a better pot. :) The leaves are a bit âwavyâ - is this a sign of it needing anything? Iâm learning to mostly ignore him. lol

Been ignoring my plants lately other than watering. So I decided to check out the ones that needed watering and to update the pics on Planta. That ogres ear is a favorite. It was a tiny rescue and itâs had mealy bugs twice. Itâs a fighter. Lol. The peperomia is doing well but I have so much trouble with string plants.
taller and taller, but he's still waiting to bloom!
Love sun stress on my succulents. This is an Echeveria Silhouette.
What would you do? This big boy/girl needs to spread out, itâs getting way to big/tall for the pot so itâs going to tip over with the weight, Iâm already holding it up with two bamboo sticks. Iâm afraid of damaging it so I need advice. The top part is thriving and as you can see, itâs reaching out in several directions. Under that, the middle part leaves are sort of dying of old age I guess and the lower part has new babies busting out from under. Should I cut the stem under the middle part above the babies, take those yellow leaves out & plant the stem with the cross like top on a different pot? Will it keep going and not die? Iâll leave the lower part with the new babies flourish on this pot since they seem to like it there. Thanks
Hi! First post here. Iâm trying to identify this plant. The app thinks it an elephant bush⊠but all I have are these cute little guysâŠ. Hard to tell if thatâs what they really are. Any ideas? Weâve had them for a long time and given them NO attention. In fact they were only very lightly rooted into soilâŠreally just sitting on top. I recently repotted them and watered them lightly. I put them in very âsandyâ soil. They seem pretty happy since the repot (a week ago).
This one is just a sad share. A week ago Saturday I knocked over one of my potted cactus plants. Now if my thumb could speak it would have said âLook at that. I Guess they were right. You are dumber than me.â My advice to those like me who sometimes do things that we know are a bad idea but we do it anyway⊠DO NOT DO IT. My bad idea started months ago when I purchased a clay pot that had a V shape to it. So small base wider opening. A perfectly normal pot but obviously not for something tall. And this was mistake number 1. I put my tall toothpick cactus AND my tall snowy prickly pear cactus INTO the V like pot. I was very careful every time I moved. Mot just moved the pot but every times I moved anywhere near the pot. (At this point you see my male DNA was working just like it does every day, always missing a protein link to full information.) With storm approaching I decided to bring the potted cactus indoors and to my bedroom on the second floor. The bed room gets the most sun even though the windows face west. After assessing all of the possible places to put the potted cactus, and all the proâs and conâs, I made the stellar decision to place the V shaped potted cactus with tall cactus coming out of the top, on the small but tall pedestal table in front of the window next to my bed. And thus it became official I was a contender for the What a Dumb Ass Award. Some would say a shoe-in to win. Hours later, like slow motion horror, I bumped the tall lean pedestal table, that was holding the V like pot that was holding the tall and top heavy two cacti. Wobble, wobble, wobble, went the table, the pot, and the cacti. As the cacti went from vertical to horizontal, the portion of my brain that thought it was all a good idea to put the pedestal table, V-shaped pot, and tall cacti out of V-shaped pot all together as a trio, then said to the rest of my brain⊠- Donât panic. I got this. Hands move NOW to catch the cactus. - Yes hands did as the abnormal brain told them to do that is until hands, and arms, felt the cacti needles thrusted into the skin. When that happened hands realized how painful it was trying to do what they were told, and that abnormal brain had to be dealt with sooner than later. With hands and arms pulling back out of danger the eyes continued to watch and document the fall of the screaming cacti as they hit the floor. Theyâre laying on the floor what is a tall, prickly, pear, cactus dislodged from its comfortable potted place, with a needle or two broken from outside. He would live. For Snow, our tall snow prickly pear cacti, the severed parts of her body were everywhere. With no feeling I just picked them all up slowly and placed them into a coffee cup next to the bed the cup was filled with broken pad parts, and I left it. Sit there for at least five days. On the sixth day, I decided I could rebuild her, and him. I can make them stronger, better, and taller. We had the technology and we were gonna make them live, and make them live in a non-wobbly pot. Here are pictures of T.C., mending Snow, and the surrounding scattered Snow pads offspring of theirs.
What would you do? (And no Iâm not John Quinones.) A recent storm blew a Prickly Pear cactus that I had in a round pot, and sitting on a short to the ground table, off the table âcrashingâ to the ground. I say âcrashingâ meaning the pot is now cracked, versus âsmashingâ meaning the pot would have smashed open. âșïž So the pot has a bad crack and can be mended. The Prickly Pear though needed some TLC though because one pad was supporting three extension pads, and those three pads had 3 or more additional pads each. While this potted Prickly Pad was not officially top heavy, like some of my other Prickly Pad potted cacti, it still was the sail for the wind in the storm. All three pads connected to the main pad needed to be severed off. I performed the surgery days ago and let the pads callous over for a couple of days. Yesterday I planted the three in a rectangular terracotta pot. Looking at the before and after picsâŠwould you also cut the pads sprouting out of each of the three or leave them connected? If you suggest cutting them and planting them too then why?
I need to take those off because theyâre coming out of the terrarium again. I canât remember if I need to let them callous over before I stick them in soil. Anybody know?
Hello! I picked up these plants at a garage sale, but havenât been able to identify what they are. Any ideas? The new growth on both has leaves of sorts, and the long vine has spines.
Used up some old pots on some growing cacti, donât know for sure the names of some of these. Also, decided to go ahead & chop/separate some succsđ”
Any tips on keeping these two babies alive(sun, water, temp, etc.? đ„čđż itâs my first time owning up plants!
Okay so I my sister gave me this plant like a a couple months ago and I watered it maybe like 3 times in those months and now I actually wanna take care of it cuz it didnât died đ so when/how do I go about repotting it? Does it need to be repotted? Idk if anyone could help that would be awesome
Need some care advice for this Haworthia! Was gifted to me, but Iâm not sure if heâs healthy or not! He was originally just two big sprouts (?) but has since grown four more. Any advice would be very appreciated!
Itâs time to repot my Christmas cactus. I read or heard somewhere (canât for the life of me recall the source) that they may not do as well in âcactus blendâ soils. So my question is, is this true? Should I repot with a cactus mix? Or would my aroid mix be better? ( 25% Orchid bark, 25% perlite, 20% coco coir, 10% charcoal, worm castings, &black gold)
Plants definitely teach a child responsibility đȘŽ my baby girlâs best friend picked these out for her đ and sheâs caring for them so well!
Lifesaver finally bloomed.. been slow this year
Happy Friday everyone. Can anyone tell me if I am supposed to trim back this long stem after the flower buds have fallen off? Or do I leave a long stem?
This poor thing. I went to put it into a new pot today and it completely detached from the roots. Itâs been growing - I can see new green leaves. Help!!
My Kalanchoe has softening leaves all of a sudden. Iâm following the water/fertilize schedule thru the app. Help!!
