Hello all, I have this turbinicarpus schmiedickeanus with many offshoots. (more on the other side) I would love to be able to propagate these and add one to a pot for a friend.
Everything I have read says they propagate from seeds. Does anyone have an insight if these will also propagate from cuttings?
Thank you guys in advance for any advice!
Andrew
Just bought this cute little Zebra Plant. Can’t think of any good names for it. Any recommendations?

I was just gifted/saved a bunch of succulents - two indoor succulent gardens, a variegated jade tree, and a desert rose. The most light I have available is an east window that’s already full of philodendrons, begonias, etc., so I’m a bit concerned about getting them enough light. Will they do ok under grow lights about 4-5’ from the window? I’m especially concerned about the jade and desert rose, which I’m obsessed with.
Any suggestions?

Older pic from the point where I started thinking, “Okay, you don’t have any more room.” Note also that, other than my tiny murderous cholla, the prickly pad in the white square cup is the one that gave me the worst physical damage of any. I carried it home (long story) in my coat pocket, and It released hundreds of tiny fishhook needles into my leg. My face got tingly. Learned that lesson: small spines from prickly pear = do not touch.

Sorry I’m back again!! I have one more question. I bought this plant a while back and it’s grown drastically. I was just wondering what type of plant it is so I know what it needs and what size pot to get for it’s growing little life!!!

This is my hopeful sempervivum. It’s been growing very actively, but not in the way I expected. It’s stretching up and tilting a little to the side, which tells me it isn’t getting enough light. It sits under a grow light about 6in above it (technically, it’s under the LED hood of an Aerogarden) and is positioned right up against a corner with east-facing and north-facing windows. Do I need to move it elsewhere? Unfortunately this is the brightest spot in the apartment. Any advice would be appreciated!

Bunny ear cactus are supposedly slow growers but lately mine is growing big new ears out of nowhere! 🥹

So I got these three succulents over a month ago and a lot of the leaves are dying and falling off of all three of them. I used the diagnose tool and it said they were in a too dark of a place and over watered. I moved them to a window sill just now but I found out I’ve actually been watering them less than I’m supposed to. Any advice?

Will a self watering pot work for a succulent?
I’m going away on a trip in July and was wondering if my succulents would be fine in a self watering pot like the one I made? Would they get too much, too little, or enough water?
Soil is a cactus and succulent mix with perlite, plant shown is a “Shooting Star” sedum. It’s in a room with an east facing window.

UPDATE:
Well, it’s been over a week and things haven’t changed much. I did some research and came up with a plan. As we can see my plant is not doing so great. As it was coming up time to fertilize my plant i instead reported it from regular potting soil to succulent soil to help with the drainage so hopefully I can get rid of the root rot. As I was reporting it I took away all the rotten root unfortunately there was not much to work with. I then rinsed the remaining roots with 3% hydrogen peroxide as I learned that can help get rid of the bacteria killing the roots. Hopefully in my warm room with the grow light it will heal and get better. Lmk if you think this will help!

Just repotted my new snake plant. I don’t have a great track record with plants but I’m hoping this app helps me keep them healthy.

The evolution of Sydney, who was the first “big” one in my mix. I believe the owner got rid of it after squirrels went to town on the top leaves. The new growth is all over the course of three weeks.

This watering reminder is the reality of succulent arrangements and why your mom is telling you six months later, “I think the two fuzzy plants in the back died, but the pink one seems okay.” All four of these are in the same container and ultimately part of my crew exploring black sand and rooting over a rock.

Help, succulents don’t like me! My friend gifted me this donkey tail succulent, she was in a much fuller condition. Once I got it I transferred her into a clear plastic pot, SHE WAS NOT ADJUSTING! She’s started giving out due to me I believe I overwatered her. I repotted her again & examined her, roots were rotted & the stem was slowly rotting. So trimmed the rotted roots & stem. Once I did that I took off the little buds from the bottom about 1in or less of it. So I potted her in dry soil and gave her a few sprays. I know absolutely nothing about succulents propagating.
Theses are my questions
Should I have completely watered it ?
How often should I water it?
Will the stem grow roots?
The buds, how do I propagate those?
