Does anyone have any recommendations for cacti and succulents that I can plant in my back yard? I have a small patch of dirt in front of my door and I would love to have my our little garden. It’s shaded during the afternoon but gets the evening sun.

I almost killed this snake plant when I was brand new to plants. Now almost a year later this baby forgave me and look at the growth!

My prickly pear cactus has started developing these white patches. It doesn’t look like mold - any ideas what’s going on?

Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong? I thought I was overwatering my burros tail because my leaves have been getting wrinkly and so I cut back on watering and they started to get plump again now they are wrinkled and more from the top are wrinkling too when they weren’t before

Does anyone know where can we get a Jade bonsai or a slightly bigger jade plant to create a bonsai, around Mundelein/ Vernon Hills area ? Or any good online options?

Saved 2 holiday cactuses from my MIL and repotted and turned it into 3 (she had them in a spare room and forgot about them) so I’m bringing them back to life !

I found this little guy and I have had him for about 2 months. It’s growing really well but it looks ugly the way it’s potted. Any suggestions on what to do?

My paddle plant has gotten very squishy recently. Nothing has changed about her watering schedule, location, or pot. What should I do? Repot? Help!

This is my variation of succulents. I’ve had it for about a month and a half now and right when I got it, I didn’t realize that I needed to have it in the sun more and the leaves fell off of the one in the right of the picture. I really hope someone can help me get it back to its former glory. And yes, it is getting plenty of sun now and enough water.

Alright my cactus experts…I need all your advice and tips! I was just gifted this little guy and have no clue how to properly care for him. I have several succulents so I know it isn’t much different. But I still have some questions. What size pot should I put him in? Do I have to leave those arms or is it okay to cut and plant them all together? Lastly, anyone know what kind this is?

Hello! I need help with my cactus here. I have had it for at least 2 years now, and when I got it there were flowers on it and it looked good! Then I had someone else repot it who was supposed to know how to, and it has not grown much since then. I tried reporting it myself a few months back (and I was shocked to see that there was nothing really there for roots, maybe 3/4 of an inch. I didn’t know if that was normal or not so I just put it in new soil in the same pot and back in the window), but there was still no progress with it growing or having flowers on it. Unfortunately, it recently got caught on the curtain and fell out of the pot, which allowed me to see that there were hardly any roots still. And still not looking healthy I don’t think, and no flowers, but I don’t know anything about this plant. It also keeps leaning no mater how many times I try to center it, which I assume is because it has no roots? Help please!

Does anyone know what this is? It looks like some type of a tree - I got it from a cactus/succulent seller but don’t remember what the name is.

Can anyone tell me why this has happened to my succulent? Since February it has dropped a bunch of leaves and they’ve gotten much wider. It’s in a west facing window because that’s the brightest in my room but I can move it to the south facing in the common area if needed.

Rescued what I think is a prickly pear cactus from a communal bin store earlier in the year. Repotted it in the right soil and have been watering as required and fertilizing. When I found it only had the main paddle and the right hand paddle. They both looked a bit diseased but I’ve checked it for parasites ect and can’t spot anything. I usually have it in the sunniest place in the house which gets lots of direct sun light. During the course of spring and summer the left hand green paddle grew in quite quickly and has some spine growth. The other two still don’t, the cactus is clearly still healthy as I’m seeing new growth but the other two panels look diseased. What do people think about the other two older paddles? Feel somewhat invested so would atleast want to treat them if it was a disease. If it’s just old though I might consider taking the right paddle and repotting to allow room for a newer more healthy looking paddle to grow
