Hi all, I’ve recently joined the cactus community and wanted to share my collection! The Euphorbia and Notocactus did have spider mites when I got them a few days ago, and I have been working on getting rid of them by spraying them every 3 days at night. I didn’t notice when I bought it, but the bottom of the Notocactus doesn’t look amazing so hopefully getting rid of spider mites helps. However, I love them all and am hoping I can take good care of them! I live where it is sunny year round and the people at the cactus nursery told me my window was a perfectly fine location for them since it is West facing.

I’ve had this cactus for quite a while (probably 2 years) but noticed that for the past couple months the bottom has this yellowing color. Is this from over watering? (for context it is by a window and there’s several other cactuses by it that are doing just fine)

I posted a month ago about my SOT and I have a bit of a turtles update! I was asking if the new turtles that grew would plump up since they looked a bit like pancakes. Well they have!!! It’s kinda hard to see in the pic but they’re shiner than the newest turtles, similar to that of the old turtles. (Old blurry turtles were like that from the nursery - dark coloured ones I started getting after I brought him home) Thank y’all for all your help! Big shout out to succulentmama for all their help đŸ„°đŸ„°

I’ve never had a cactus deflate before! What on earth did I do? The only thing I can figure is that I overwatered or something because the mid to deep soil was damp. It’s in a window and the other cacti are in great shape. The skewer shown was in the pot permanently. I only just today pulled it out to check the soil. (The other cacti are in the same location. Final skewer was left in for about a minute. Is there any hope at all for him?

Is this salvageable? This cactus was in a nursery pot that was planted with 5 other cacti. The pot was getting too crowded so we went to repot and this is what we found. All the bottoms of the others also look the same. Nothing smells rotten but not sure if these are past the saving point. Thanks for the help!

Random question
Are succulents edible? I ask this because when propagating my succulent it smelled like freshly cut lettuce. đŸ€·â€â™€ïž I mean I know there are edible flowers too. Maybe the succulent’s flowers are edible????? Maybe they’re both poisonous and I shouldn’t put them in my mouth 😂😅. M

Hello, the soil in my snake plant is super stiff and feels almost like styrofoam. I can’t even stick my finger in it to check the moisture level it’s so stiff. Does anyone know why this is? It’s in the original pot and soil from the nursery.

Hi! My sister had this succulent in her apartment. It sat right in the window (though she kept the blinds closed, sun still peaked through them) and she believes she’s been watering it about once a month. It has lost many leaves, but has much more new growth. When she first got the plant, the entire plant was the same color (the color of the biggest leaves). The plant is really delicate and frail. Any suggestions?
