The SADDEST thing happened to my monkey tail cactus today. Right when I was about to give him a progress update photo. Found him like this. So sad... I guess I'll let the broken top callus over and try to root him up then repot both ends together. Anyone know if a break on this juvenile of a monkey tail will stunt it's future growth?

I’ve been wanting a good cactus that grows pretty big, so I can put it on my shelf. But it needs to be low light. Please comment any suggestions! TIA!

I have SOpearls variegata, relatively small (in a 2" diameter pot lol, tiny!) and i last watered it about two and a half weeks ago. the soil is not damp, but the pearls are still pretty firm when i give them a bit of a pinch. some of them have more give than others. should i water? or do i keep waiting?

Hi! Ive had this cactus for almost 6 months now and it started off super small at about 3 inches and now it looks like this. Ive had it under a grow light (4 of them at one point) so im not sure if it’s elongated from lack of light or another problem. Ive been considering cutting the extended part off but im not sure what kind of cactus it is so im not sure if this is normal…looking for some advice :)

I couldn't remember if August or September is the month that Home Depot - historically since 2019, anyway - gets in some gems, particularly Haworthia. The answer is August. I had to walk away from some things. The articulata is a little rough, but ¡Ay! the size of the clump.

Can somebody tell me what is happening? The leaves, one by one, spiraling from the bottom, are drying up wilting and falling off. I read this is usually a sign of under watering as the plant is reclaiming the water stored in the leaves? The substrate i am using is very dry cactus and succulent soil but my crib is dry so the soil is dry literally within 2-3 days. Does anybody know for sure how to fix this and if i should change the soil? Thank you guys ❤️💚

I’ve had this plant for a couple months, im not 100% sure what it is. When i got it it was already a little unstable due to its size. However it’s gotten more unstable, its leaves have started to die at the bottom and the two longer stems coming off the top have started to wilt and even turn brown. Should i be concerned/what should i do?

Y’all… I got this red succulent and it came green out of the box. I read that the leaves can fade due to inadequate light, but it’s been getting good light for about a week now in front of my west facing window. This is bs or should I get the grow light out?? Anyone have experience with multicolored succulents?..maybe I’m an inpatient plant parent🤷🏼‍♂️

What kind of succulent is this? I tried the scan tool in the app but it came up as a silver king common houseleek but after looking the name up nothing that came up looks like this

Hello all! I have noticed my cactus is starting to bend/slouch. Is this normal or do I need to make some kind of adjustments with the lighter watering?

Oh hi, little friend. Don't tell Lithops, but I might love Astrophytum flowers the most. This newbie has a little sag, so I tossed the coin on "too much or not enough water" and gave it a good soak. It's potted in my newest recipe, a smidgen of coco coir, and a mix of pumice, clay pebbles and zeolite bits, so I bottom-water (fingers crossed on the theories presented in the last sentence). Ps Zeolite is used in aquariums, but the supposed pros of using it fall in line with the promises of lava/clay bits/akadama (moisture maintenance, reduction of bugs, heat control). Fingers crossed.

Friends have been watching my plants while I’ve been out of state. I left in the middle of may and just now got this picture. No clue how this happened- how do I avoid this in the future? It was also attached how it looked before. Was it too much sun? I still don’t get back for another couple weeks. Is it okay, or is it not going to do well?

I am having trouble identifying these four plants. First pic I had down as a Gasteria Oblique, which came from Planta I believe. And now I know is wrong. Two I have as Gasteraloe Flow. Three I have as Gonialoe Tiger Aloe. Four I have as Gonialoe Variegata. I think one and two are the same. I’ve looked online and the Flow seems to be confusing. Tiger aloe is probably correct. And the id for Variegata is also confusing. They all have the same care but wanted more precise names. So is anyone confident of what they actually are?

How do you like to fertilize your succulents? I have two that I bottom-water, but they're pretty small, and my liquid fertilizer recommends diluting an ounce in a gallon, so should I just use that ratio and scale it down?
