Ive got some succulent seeds in the cart to buy. But as far as starting them, just use a regular peat based mix and put under a humidity dome? Or no humidity dome? Which works best?

It seems counterintuitive, but humidity dome, for sure. I have successfully grown Lithops and a few other sucs this way. I used the typical “cactus soil” and added a small layer of vermiculite on top to preserve the moisture. Check out YouTubers like CactusQuest and Cookies Cacti for actual, usable, expert tips. Note that I have successfully grown Lithops and Monilaria moniformis seedlings (see image), but then end up neglecting them or repotting them before it’s time. After watching a lot of videos, it’s common to leave them in a plastic pot in a ziploc for a year. Sorry this comment is so manic. My phone won’t let me copy and paste lol.

I agree, humidity dome or plastic wrap are a must. Peat and or peat/gritty mix
