Hi! I am a NEW plant mama, and trying to figure out how to care for my new plant babies. I think I started by overwatering them, so I pumped the brakes. The also had some of them on top of a block on an old school radiator (I keep my house at 65 degrees when I’m home, 60 when I’m away) but I moved a few of them because I felt like they could be getting too warm/dried out, and ALL my plants get ample light during the day (open the curtains, lots of windows, etc) . I’m wondering what else I can do to rejuvenate them. I’ll see if I can attach a few pictures of the ones I have concerns about. Does anyone have any advice? Also how regularly should I be watering these?

Make sure that the succulents, cacti are in a South facing, West facing window. If not, that they are getting a lot of light! I learned from experience when I had my aloe in a N facing window and I watered it all the time. I killed it.

If the cactus is soft on the bottom where it is brown I expect it is not worth keeping. I have no idea how you're going to find out if it's soft! The bottom left photo, this could be from over-watering resulting in a fungal disease but it could also be spider mites. Mites are less common on cactus and it's hard to see in the picture but if there are fine webs on the leaf and teeny tiny specs that move, this would be spider mites. We would need a closer look to see the mites.

succulents and cacti should be watered around every 2-4 weeks, depending on the plant. one of my succulents with thinner "leaves" gets watered every 2 weeks, and the ones with plumper "leaves" (which includes cacti too!) are close to 4 weeks. I use planta's schedule and it took me a while to experiment and adjust it based on each plant's needs lol

succulents are very independent and durable to dry environments. its better to underwater than overwater when figuring out what it needs! underwatering will make it start to shrivel a little, but overwatering will make it mushy and can lead to rot
