Hey everyone! Does anyone have any tips for my succulent that is shriveling? I only water it when I get a reminder from Planta… But it isn’t growing, now the leaves look like this! 🌵🎍🪴🪷

Maybe not enough direct sunlight? It looks like it’s on a desk with lots of artificial light.
0 LikesFollowing plantas schedule isn’t always the best for a plant. I always have to check if the soil is fully dry before watering because planta has me water way too often
3 LikesI agree! If I wait several days or a week, my plant’s watering schedule does not adjust. Consequently, planta has me watering again, WAY too soon 😔

Yea I don’t really follow the fertilizer schedule on Planta now because I was following it for my Lilly and the leaves kept dropping before the planta schedule. So the tips started yellowing due to inconsistent watering. I stick a chopstick in the dirt before watering, if it comes out clean I water. I always underestimate how much water succulents need
1 LikeIt almost looks like it needs more water. Keep in mind that you have multiple plants in that one little pot, so they’re going to need more water than planted. That’s because Planta thinks there’s just one plant in that pot. When leaves starts shriveling, that is them saying they need water. Unless they feel mushy, then that would be a root problem. But if they just get wrinkly, or become more pliable, that is how succulents tell you they need more water. They are just drinking the water that they have stored in their leaves. Think of their leaves as water balloons. Water when the leaves are getting wrinkly or more pliable, the plant will suck up that water, and the dirt should be dry again. Don’t water just because the dirt is dry, but definitely don’t water before the dirt is dry. Just water when the leaves are telling you they need more water. The lower leaves are where you check to see if they are more wrinkly or pliable, but if only one leaf on the very bottom is like that, it may very well be just an old leaf that the plant is sucking the nutrients from to kill it off. Older leaves fall off periodically and that’s totally normal.😊
