How do you usually plant succulent babies? I left the mom leaf out of the pot but should I cut it off? Bury it?

On my succulent babies the mom leaves just popped off on their own. Its normal for the mom leaf to rot away as the baby grows so it looks like you can just cut it off

i’d pull the leaf off, it looks spent, and replant the baby in a succulent mix, bury those roots a bit more. the soil looks like it has too much organic matter for succulents. 60-70% grit is ideal for most

most premixed succulent soils are way too moisture retentive for the succulents they’re meant for unfortunately. miracle gro’s cacti and succulent mix irks me for this exact reason— it claims to be “well draining” but is 90% peat and organic matter. i’d suggest using about a mix that’s about 30-40% potting soil and the rest grit like perlite and pumice
