Hey guys, wanted to ask about this one. I’ve had this succulent for a little while and it’s been doing well but I had to go home for winter break and left it at my apartment in college. It was sitting on a window cill without water for 3 weeks and I came back to it looking like this. I don’t know if it was the cold on the cill or the lack of water but the roots don’t look happy. The ends of the vines still look good though but I’ve noticed a white fuzzy thing on one of the vines, do I have to worry about them rotting? Thanks!

White fuzz on plants are often times a pest called mealy bugs. They can be a pain to get rid of in succulents because they hid very well in the small crevices. I would google mealy bugs and see if it looks like what you have (it’s a little hard to tell from the pics). If it is, you’ll need to make a mixture of water/rubbing alcohol and spray the plant to kill the bugs. You can also grab a small cotton swab to get in the small crevices. You might have to do a few treatments until they’re completing gone. I would recommend changing the soil too in case there’s any eggs.

I think you can save it! I would just treat, repeat, monitor and check the rest of the plant leaves/crevices.

I would trim down the mad bits, pick the white stuff off and give a pesticide treatment. If you do repot add cinnamon and egg shells into the soil.

Sounds good, what do you mean by the mad bits though? Like the dried up looking parts?

Yes, the dried out or dead looking bits. If you repot and there are roots that don’t look the greatest you can trim those up too

It most likely got too cold. In shock it was more susceptible to pests. When you start to water, go slow, lest it go into shock again. If nothing seems to work you can lop off the tops that are plump, let the end callous for 1-2 days. Then just replant. Use the app for watering schedule. ( I had the same thing happen, and thats what I did).
