Hey there! So my succulent isn’t super happy. He started off as very red. He’s got no drainage in this little container, which I know isn’t ideal. If I were to repot, is it better if I just chop him so he’s not as leggy? Or does he have better chances if I keep his roots? Any other suggestions for how I can improve his care? Thanks so much!!! Edit: he is currently in a south-facing window.

He looks like he needs more sun because he’s very stretched

Yes - the stretching happened before, when he was under a grow light (clearly not strong enough). Now he’s hanging in a south-facing window so I don’t think there’s much more sun he can get 😂

How many lumens of light did the grow light give off, as well as its PPFD and kelvins? If it’s stretching under a light it’s because it’s not suitable for it due to one of the three factors above. They only remain red under adequate light and he definitely shouldn’t stretch like this

Personally I would repot first and chop later, just so this little guy can build his strength. No harm in chopping now though, so do what feels best!

Ok thank you! I’ll see what I can do with the repotting - though it’ll be hard with that particular container so I guess if I mess up too badly I can just chop 😅
