My Christmas cactus started drooping and the leaves are turning mushy all of a sudden. I repotted it to check the roots and give it a bigger pot but that seemed to send it into even more shock. The roots seemed fine, possibly a bit wet but I didn’t notice root rot. Is there anything I can do to save it?
if soil is staying wet, a bigger pot is not the solution. this is 100% overwatering. you probably have to start over, recover what firm pieces you can and propagate.

This^^ Mushy leaves is always rotting from the inside and will continue to spread if you don’t cut all of the rot away.
