Hi! I’m new to plants and I got this golden succulent awhile ago and now it seems too feel a bit overcrowded, and a lot of baby plants are growing underneath.. would separating them to two pots be better for more growth?

    Looks like a very healthy sedum adolphi. You can divide into multiple plants or just let it grow the way it wants. They are a trailing plant and will grow out of the planter. The last pic is actually a Graptosedum, but similar growth.

    You can separate them or just transplant all of them into a larger pot, but it doesn’t need to be a lot bigger—just another inch or two. Succulents are super great about being separated and propagated though so if you’d like to have more pots with the same kind of succulent, go ahead and separate some out! They can also make a good gift for certain occasions if you don’t want to keep the ones you separate. However, even the small ones should be happy and grow great if you transplant the whole cluster together into a larger container. The larger ones will eventually climb out and start growing over the sides of the pot and there will be more room for the smaller ones to grow, but putting them in a larger pot will give the more space to spread themselves out. It mostly just depends on how you want them to look.
