Don’t keep it in water - I think it’ll just rot in there. You can pot it up with a chunky succulent soil mix into a small succulent pot (like 2-3 in) since your plant is tiny. I like terracotta for my succulents but you can use any pot with a drainage hole. Water when the soil is bone dry and the leaves seem a little less taut. Good luck!
