So I rescued this allo from a lady about a plant stand from in the summer who had it in a box and a dark garage 🤦‍♀️ my question is should I chop the neck off and just plant the top half directly in soil? I think it just mutated trying to survive in there? But it's so top heavy the plant can't stand up and I think the neck is probably sucking him over the energy from the rest of the plants any thoughts as to what kind of all it is just a regular one? Thank you so much 🤷‍♀️🫶🪴🙏

This is a normalish growth pattern for aloe. If you don't like the look, you can cut below it and replant it.

Well if it was planted outside the head would be laying on the ground

Yup, that's how they grow in the wild as they mature. You should see some of the 100+ yr old aloe or agave, they're wild

Do you think that I should try to prop it up with a moss pole or something and just keep letting it grow cuz right now it's just land sideways in the head just laying on the plant stand 😵‍💫🪴 LOL

You could with some stakes. But it can be hard to manipulate them as those stalks dry. It may be easier to cut it and then as it grows again strain it. Here's a picture of my older one. You can see it's also looped out of the pot

Cut the long stem off a little above the soil level, it might sprout a new plant at the base. Cut the propagation part a little below the green and let it dry for a couple days on the counter before planting it.
