Looks like scab/scaring. If it starts spreading, you have an issue.

It had it since I owned it, it's grown double it's size but recently stopped growing so I've repoted it to see if that's the reason, gave it new cactus soil and a larger terracotta pot

I would agree it looks like a scar or even a sun burn. I have this little baby (long time friend of mine) who I usually stick outside in the summer, but last year she got a gnarly sunburn. Her pot mate at the time also got burned, but since she’s a succulent, the leaves are no longer prominent. Unfortunately, since cacti don’t have leaves, they don’t slough off the scars so quickly.

In addition, I also agree that if it spreads, that is not good.

So in time it could heal, but if it spread its basically no hope?

Oh, I would not say no hope. Just that if it spreads it might be a disease & you’ll need to treat it. But it might just be a scar, so you may not have to worry.
