**succulent care & plant ID** Hi all! I recently potted these succulents in Succulent Miracle-Gro and I’m wondering
did I just completely doom them? The soil doesn’t seem all that great. I also purchased Rosy soil so my questions are: should I repot my succulents in the Rosy soil and if so will they be ok until another month or so when it’s warmer?? Also, could anyone ID this cactus?? (Last photo) Thank you!!

The only ‘soil’ I’ve found for Cactus and Succulents that doesn’t hold too much water and pack down is a mix by Molly’s that is soil free. Plants love it.

I wouldn’t use just the miracle gro soil. For my succulents I do a mix of equal parts of the miracle gro succulent soil that you have, orchid bark, and pearlite/pumice stones. You can get all this stuff for cheap at Lowe’s. This mix gives a good balance between soil to absorb the water and grittiness to help it drain really well and not stay soggy for too long. Good luck with your new babies!

I’ve never had any luck with miracle grow, including their succulent stuff, and wouldn’t recommend it, especially if you live in a more humid environment in the spring and summer months. I swear by Espoma’s Cactus and Succulent mix, but I’ve heard good things about Rosy’s, so I’d definitely recommend repotting it in that. Hope this helps!
