Hi everyone, this is an echeveria arrow who has grown wonky & I just don’t know wtf to do. It grew leggy until I bought a plant light for it. 1 on left has been propped up. 1 on the right has 3 pups on it. The base has more babies. There were 4 tall plants so I cut off 2. 1 is doing well, 1’s ok, there’s 1 pup doing iffy. Should I cut the 2 long ones off to plant alone? Cut them short & try to get them growing straight up? Leave stumps to grow randomly? I’m glad it’s overcome my terrible learning curve, feel bad it had to grow so wonky.

That’s a cute pot! I think you’ll feel better when you see them all tidied up. I would cut the tops off with a 1” stem, pot them in small pots, alone or together, whatever looks good to you. With the rest, just experiment and see what happens. I know the stumps sprout new babies. I don’t save all the extra leaves for propping, it’s a bit too extra for me.

Agree with the leaf propagation! I saved so many when I first got my plants, thinking it’d be nice to have more plants & not expecting many to take root. Nope, now have too many! 🤣 I think your plan sounds great. Many thanks!

lol you know what I’m saying. With succulents… unless I have spent a significant amount of money or the plant is something rare-ish or say for instance, in a few months time I want to create an arrangement/little succulent garden with something in particular, I may prop them. But if it doesn’t spark inspiration or I don’t have a clear picture, it has to go. That looks different for everyone. Sometimes inspiration comes from the ugliest duckling 💚
