    Mine is like that but only right near the base. They don’t need much water. Just repotted after the first year as it seemed the soil became hydrophobic. Now the leaves are coming back. What soil is it in?

    i agree with jen, looks like overwatering. cacti love sunlight so it’s never too much light. if it’s squishy, i would remove it and you could try to cut it and propagate the healthy part if you wanted!
