    Mine is like that but only right near the base. They donā€™t need much water. Just repotted after the first year as it seemed the soil became hydrophobic. Now the leaves are coming back. What soil is it in?

    i agree with jen, looks like overwatering. cacti love sunlight so itā€™s never too much light. if itā€™s squishy, i would remove it and you could try to cut it and propagate the healthy part if you wanted!
