This guy has started sprouting at a rapid rate in the last two months. Itâs looking crowded in its little pot. Iâm assuming transplanting is the next step. Is this step needed yet? Thank you!

If Iâm not mistaken, cacti like to get good and snug in their rootball before being transplanted. So wait until youâve got some roots growing out of the bottom. And if itâs not an emergency, the general rule is to wait until spring to repot.
2 gillningarTotally agree, they donât grow very extensive root systems so they do better in smaller pots. you can pull it out of the pot gently to look at the root growth and see where itâs at!
3 gillningari would agree that they like to be a little cozy, plus their root balls arenât very large! if itâs crowding too much on the top, you can always go for a wider (but not deeper) pot
1 gillaWhen they get very snug I tend to repot. Then plant some of the pups around the bottom.
1 gillaWonderful. You guys rule. Thank you!
